Ajmal was an Architectural Designer within the design & technical groups of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), designing mixed-use towers to large complex proposals for airports and universities, and working within the team to develop solutions to complex geometrical issues, related to design documentation and fabrication, by establishing advanced computational workflows. Co-Founded and Directed the Advanced Design Group & The Performative Design Group respectively, an inter-company consultant group. Initially established to address firm wide project challenges through the use of advanced computational methods, the group then further developed key connections between complex geometric models and High Performance Simulation Software, to push advanced sustainable proposals and more efficient buildings.
